Queens Park House
Built in 1899 by local builders Bennet and Gimbrett to the design of G.A. Sexton, we were invited by our Client to bring clarity to a confused Victorian home that had been incrementally extended and altered over the past century.
Set within the Queens Park conservation area in the London Borough of Brent, this property is one of many Late Victorian buildings in the area that had been modified to meet the expectations of modern family life.
Central to our proposals was lowering the ground level and reconstructing a late 1990s extension, to create an impressive space of equivalent status to the Victorian living areas found in the original building.
Our aim was to let the historic character of the original building celebrated and conserved, with the contemporary spaces of the rear extension a coherent addition that was discernibly constructed as part of a new phase of works.
