The Home Factory

Peering over the garden walls of an overgrown garden in Stroud Green, North East London, a concrete-clad garage held promise to become the new home of a charitable housing association serving residents in Stroud Green, North East London.

Our proposal was always to provide something more than an office space. As a charity formed to support those in most need of accommodation, we discussed the need for our proposal to be resourceful, modest, but hopeful and spirited. The resulting project is a compact but adaptable space set to accommodate the charity and its residents, in a space that is approachable, bright, and flexible.

Whilst providing desk space to permanent staff at the charity, the Home Factory will also act as a drop-in clinic for residents facing issues in their accommodation, or in need of further support.

Internal walls are lined with an acoustic panel system, finished in Kvadrat fabrics that bring a comfortable environment for conversation as well as bringing a softness to the interior of the former garage building.
